The Informal Learning Lab

In my last post, I covered a design narrative of someone who would need or want to use the Informal Learning Lab Dashboard. That has helped me as I begin to develop a prototype of what the dashboard would look like based on what my users would like to see and how they will be using it.

Using ChatGPT, I was able to create a mockup of what the dashboard could look like depending on the data sources and with Learning Pathways and Learning & Performance areas designated as Future Development since for the first round of delivery, these areas are not going to be developed.

From this point, I would like to begin to scaffold out the PowerBI backend to make this prototype a reality. This will also include developing sample data sources, probably in the form of Excel files, to feed the dashboard. Next steps are as follows:

1. Develop PowerBI backend framework.
2. Create sample data source feeds, probably in the form of Excel files.
3. Feed sample data sources into the PowerBI framework, troubleshoot any issues.
4. Iterate and refine.
